Artist's Comments

A classmate requested a dragon tattoo design after seeing me doodle before class started. I am not too familar with traditional Japanese art and I don't mimic other people's styles very well, but it didn't turn out as bad as I thought. I originally was going to add a samurai into the mix, but I was afraid it will draw attention away from the dragon.

Well, I tried my best to make it look like those Oriental paintings. I admit the dragon doesn't look as supple as a hoped. Drawing scales is somewhat like drawing grass. If you are careful about its size and placement, it's not that tricky to draw. However, it's extremely tedious and can lead to mistakes as you start to lose concentration. It took a couple of days for the scales. The design is going to be on someone's skin, so I couldn't be lazy about it.

I am but one of two
I am but one of two who are one
So which am I? Am I the one or the other?
Am I the image in the mirror or am I the mirrors image?

Yes, it's like drawing grass, but you have to be a little more careful about the placement.

Awesome detail, very nicely done.
I love the entire shape and how it seems to flow along the screen.

The Yaoi is what gives a Fangirl her power. It's an energy field created by all living things. It surrounds the bishounen and penetrates them. It binds the galaxy together.

Nice dragon, well drawn with an incredible attention to detail. Those scales must have taken hours!

Yes, the scales took time some time to do. Luckily I didn't have to ink it and had a 0.5 mechanical pencil to use. Thank you for the comment and fave.
